Peridot is extracted from deep mines acquired near San Carlos, Arizona.  It is the official birthstone for the month of August.  Peridot is one of the oldest gemstones, dating back to the Egyptians as early as 1500 B.C.  Peridot is an exquisite gem with a natural chartreuse green hue, with a Mohs hardness of 6.5 to 7.
